Ritual Policies

These are also posted in the studio + available as a hard copy upon request.

  • Book Your Bike

You are able to book classes a week in advance either through our website or The Ritual App.

In order to make a reservation, you must first buy class credit(s) or a membership. Class credits do expire. The expiration dates are posted in the description of the class or series of classes on the Website and the App and listed on your receipt.

Booking cutoff for a class is 5 minutes before a class starts.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start of class if you are new.

  • Late Cancel + No Show Policy

If you are booked into a class and are no longer able to attend, you have 12 hours prior to the start of class to remove yourself from the class without penalty. Example: if you are signed up for a 5:45am class, you have until 5:44pm the day before to cancel your reservation.

  • Cancellations + Late Cancel

If you cancel within the 12 hour window, it is considered a “late cancel”. A late cancel will result in an $15 charge.

Riders who booked using a credit or class packs (vs. memberships) will NOT be charged a late cancel fee but will instead lose the credit.

Riders who booked using a credit or class pack: If you cancel before the 12 hour window before a class, the class credit will be returned to your account to be used at a future date; the class is not refunded.

  • No Show

If you do not cancel and do not show up to your booked class, it is considered a “no show” and we are unable to book the bike you had previously reserved. A no-show will result in a $20 charge.

Riders who booked using a credit or class packs (vs. memberships) will NOT be charged a late cancel fee but will instead lose the credit.

In the event of an emergency, please call us at the studio to make us aware. We understand that life happens and you will not be charged a fee.

  • Running Late

If you are running late, please call us + we will hold a bike for you for 5 minutes after the start of class. We cannot guarantee you will be given the exact bike you signed up for in the particular class.

If you are running late and do not call, your bike will not be held and will be released to the waitlist at the start of class.

No one will be allowed into class after the 5 minute grace period, as you will miss the warm-up and safety is our top priority.

  • Waitlist

Waitlist cutoff is 5 minutes before class. If you add yourself to a class’ waitlist, it is your responsibility to monitor if you get added to the class. You can view your status within your account and you will be emailed if/when you get added to class. You can ensure you receive email notifications by logging into your account > Edit Communication Settings > “Opt In” to Email Notifications.

It is your responsibility to take yourself OFF the waitlist if you no longer want to get into class. EX: You are on the waitlist for a 5:45am class, you might wake up to be scheduled in the class if you do not remove yourself from the waitlist the night before. If you are added to class from the waitlist, and you late cancel or no show for the class, the same fee policies apply as stated in our policies.

  • Leaving Early

Our Instructors do everything in their power to keep a class to the exact start and end time. Please do not leave class early.

If for some reason you need to leave a class early, we kindly request that you tell the Instructor ahead of time.

  • Clip In

All riders must clip in to ride. For your first class, shoes are complimentary; after that shoes are available to rent from Ritual.

  • Technology-Free

Cell phones are not permitted in the cycling room. We have lockers available for you to store your belongings.

If for some reason you need your cell phone with you in the cycling room, please inform the Instructor at the start of class.

  • Membership Management

Some memberships have a minimum commitment time period. This is listed on the "Pricing” page when you purchase.

To cancel a recurring membership, you must give us at least 2 weeks of notice before your next billing date.

You can freeze your membership by emailing us at hello@ritualindoorcycling.com with the dates you’d like your membership to freeze. We cannot back-date a freeze. If you have classes scheduled during this freeze period, they will be canceled.

  • Kindness is Key

Fostering a safe and kind community is everything to us. Your safety, comfort, and wellbeing always comes first.

Ritual has a zero-tolerance policy for discriminatory language, threats, intimidation, or violence - especially those based on factors such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. Please inform of us of any unwanted behavior via hello@ritualindoorcycling.com

  • Listen to Your Body

Stay hydrated. Drink water throughout your ride as needed. Trust yourself, and be aware of how you’re feeling throughout the ride. Do what feels right and good for you and your body. Take it at your own pace. If at any time you feel dizzy or have difficulty breathing, gradually stop pedaling and carefully dismount the bike. You can unclip from your bike by kicking your heels outwards, or by simply removing your feet from the shoes, leaving the shoes clipped into the bike.

Trust the process. Stay in control by executing all core movements and hand positions at a slow pace before attempting to increase your speed. Do not attempt to ride the Ritual bike in a standing position at a high RPM until you have practiced at slower speeds.

  • Bike Safety

Ensure that the bike adjustment levers and knobs are properly secured and positioned correctly. An Instructor or Team Member will help you with your bike settings.

Do not use the Ritual bike without proper footwear. The pedals are compatible with Delta and SPD clips.

Riders under 4’11” should not ride the Ritual bike. The bike mechanism and ergonomics are designed for riders above 4’11”.

The Ritual bike has a weighted flywheel and a fixed gear. This means that in order to stop, you must gradually slow your pedal strokes rather than stopping abruptly. If you do need to stop immediately, push down on the resistance knob. Never turn the pedal crank arms by hand. Always keep some resistance on the wheel. Never remove your feet from the pedals while still in motion. If your foot does become disengaged, quickly move your feet to the side and push down on the resistance knob to stop the flywheel’s motion.

Do not insert any object, hands or feet into any openings, or expose hands, arms or feet to the drive mechanism or other potentially moving part of the bike. Do not dismount the bike or remove your feet from the pedals until both the pedals and the flywheel have stopped completely. If something about your bike doesn’t feel right or comfortable, tell an Instructor or Team Member.

Why Ritual Has Late Cancellation & No Show Fees

Our team spends multiple hours preparing for a deeply intentional, custom-tailored class just for you. We honor their time spent up front by ensuring that we can pay them for their time, as it is unlikely we can fill your reserved bike in such a short window.

Before opening a studio, we used to think that fees were a weird corporate money-grab (mostly because we didn’t understand why studios did it). But having spent over a decade in the industry, we know how defeating it can be to prepare for hours and days ahead of a class only for folks to not show up.

We want to ensure that there is an equitable exchange of energy and respect and we do that by paying our Instructors for their invested time while also sustainably investing in you <3
